This year we invited Dophei Folk Ensemble from Belgium, who play an important part in the history of Nyírség Folk Dance Ensemble: when our group visited Western Europe for the first time in 1982, we had been invited to their excellent festival in Vosselar.

Every year we invite Hungarian group working outside the Hungarian border, usually from the neighbouring countries where Hungarians live in minority. This year we had special guests, as Tokio Kalotaszegi Folk Dance Group arrived to the festival. They are a group of elderly Japanese people showing great respect to Hungarian folk dance art, which is worth acknowledging. They learn our dances, sing our songs, wear our folk costumes. They were very popular during the festival.
